Is there a difference in the quality of the monitor calibration? I'm not interested in the printer calibration. All I can find different between them is that aspect.

Sorry I can't detail the difference, but I can say that I am happy with my Spyder2express. I have a pair of Samsung monitors, (204B) and after using the spyder my prints from my R1800 are VERY close to the monitor. (They are not EXACT, but they are close.)

Unless you are doing ultra high dollar images for clients I would think the express would be plenty for you.

Here's a link to ColorVisions comparison charts for the two products.

Basically, Express is for one monitor and does not have as many options on things like gamma and color temp choices, RGB pre-calibration and printer profiling. Pro version has these.

I have the Express and am very happy with it, and it's a good price. I don't do any fine art printing at home, but with the printshop's profiles, I match between my monitor and the print. So I agree, Express works quite well for me.
