PS'ed into b&w, minor adjustments here and there with the healing tool. There is one major thing I dont like about this one, can anyone point it out? Im wondering how obvious it is.

what if we point out something that you never worried about?
I didn't see anything, then I turned away. Looked back again and thought, "there it is". Is it right above the headlights, on the top of the train towards the front?

Oh, basically, I love the shot. A sense of mystery, intrigue.

Nothing jumps out at me Gerry, I think it's a fine shot full of action and mystery.
I would submit this to Kodak, I think it has Picture of the day potential.

You compressed it a littlebit too much. There are some artifacts around the train, especially on the top where the fog is brighter.
Except for that it's a very atmospheric shot. Brings some Dracula associations up. :D

Actualy thats it. I removed something and I cant get the sky just right. No matter how much cloning, healing brush or patch work I do on it, hehe. I just worked on it a bit on the desktop and I think I got it better.
I wonder what the legal issue is on this, if I need a property release or not. I removed the identifying part of it that gives the train's ID away, but im not sure if that would be enough.
It belongs to a meusium, which im not sure if it belongs to the town, or to the rail way company, which would be private property, hmmm.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. :0)
I took some slide pictures of this as well, itll be interesting to see what I get back.

I dont think you would need a property release, I dont think it's recognisable as an individual train.

I was considering maybe playing with motion blur on the back side of the train mostly, a little bit on the front, to give the illusion of motion. Hmm.

There, I fixed part of the image I didnt like, and tried something else with it.
How does everyone like it now? Be honest. :0)

I see a little noise other than that it's a wonderful shot with a boat load of mood to it................:thumb

Looks like a mini-lens flare, to me. I might notice it more on a print than on a monitor. Not a big deal from here. wrt to a release... you say this was outside a museum?
Were you yourself on private property? Is the train on private property? If so, you might want to consider getting a release. I don't know much about trains, but it's possible that there aren't many with that particular engine's profile.

The train is on the museum's property, I was on the outter part of the lawn. I believe here the town owns the first yard or so of all property, so my guess would be public property. :0)

If you were on public property, no need for a location release, of course. It's where you are, not where the subject is. After all, it's on display.
Although this business of charging to shoot the bean in Chicago is disturbing.
