Excellent! The pose, the lighting, the color, the snow exposure, the background separation, it all works.

Yes, I also think this is the best shot:

which is a little too bad, because this is the guy who won:

and probably the best shot I got of him skiing was this:

(No post!) and the one I from my original post which shows him getting away from the non-elite skiers, but not looking as graceful and strong as he was.
This relates to my issue from last week -- getting the shot. Well, today I did get a shot, actually quite a nice one. But I didn't get the shot. And I had 6 chances to do it. It was clear this guy was going to come in first or second after the first lap and there were 6 laps.

With some work in post, that last shot maybe could work, at least well enough for sport journalism. These guys were the the two race leaders throughout the race, and it was pretty close until the final lap, when 140 made his move and just blew 168 away.

Nice shots in difficult conditions with the snow. Did you alter your white balance for these?
By the way, 168 never stood a chance with those pink boots.:huh

Funny you should ask. These were shot in RAW. Afterwards I use the techniques I developed a few weeks ago and described in these two threads:

Please do. This time of year, it's great to know what color snow really is.

I'll try to get it done tonight. I reckon it will need a little pruning, no?
