I had the opportunity to spend a working day at the Columbus, OH zoo.
I'd like to say that Jack Hanna is a true gentleman, generous with his time and enthusiastic about animals.
Part of the gig was getting him to interact with animals. Imagine my surprise when they brought out full size cheetah! We were within five feet of the animal, very cool experience.

His daughter also works at the Columbus Zoo, and handed him this tiny, endangered cat (can't remember the name.)

And I've heard about "baleful looks." I think I got one today.

I'm so jealouse of you, you've got to experience something wonderful. Look at that cheetah! She's so beautiful, what an amazing creature. I can see the sadness in elephant eyes, they are so expressive! Beautiful work Sid and thanks for sharing. :bow

Three great shots. :thumb
Have you considered losing some or most of the negative space on the RHS of number 3? That elephant's eye is very powerful imagery.

I have, but I don't think it would work as well. I always mess around with crops, and this one wasn't easy (I had way more space in the original.) I reckon the eye needs to be in a powerful third, and it needs a bit of framing/context. Thanks!

Thanks! The cheetah was indeed beautiful and graceful. What a rare opportunity to get so close to one. I'm grateful.

I almost always take a camera when I go on shoots. You never know. Well, in this case, I had an idea, of course. :lol3
Problem is, I have to rush to get images while I'm actually doing my job and time is always tight. As a result of rushing, my percentage of keepers is incredibly low. So I'm always greatful to have one or two that are worth saving.

Great shots! I've been a fan of Jack Hanna for a long time... I grew up watching him on Carson and Letterman. Hilarious stuff, but always with a genuine care for his animals.

Roger that, he's passionate and still amazed by animals, from what I could see.
