I have used Pirelli Diablo's before. They are a great tyre, I used them on road and track. If you don't use the bike in the wet and do a lot of track days the Diablo Corsa are superb for fast road / track use. They won't last as long as the Diablo's and aren't as good in the wet.

This is my old BETA 240 I snapped last summer.

I re-loaded it into PS and this brings up a question.

For some reason this shot has no embedded color profile. I looked at a couple of other shots from that time and they also show this lack of color profile.
Any idea's?

And for another shot this is one of two KTM 300exe that I own. Again shot last summer with no color profile.

If it looks familiar to anyone who hangs out in JM's and other AdvRider area's it's actually Neduro's old bike I shipped over....

My XR400 Dakar bike and 1150Adventure will have to wait for another post....
I'm off to bed.......

You can embed the color profile when saving in PS. For some reason that I fail to understand, it doesn't default to the "embed color profile" option all the time.

My brother's 2001 Yamaha R6:

http://home.comcast.net/~tpanek2/r6/nate_finish.jpg

This is from a track day last year. Not my picture (friend's P72), but I processed it. Original was in B&W unfortunately.

He just returned from Daytona and his first weekend of amateur racing - placed top 10 out of about 40. He's not shy about leaning it over:

He fabbed a slick tray for his lap timer out of carbon fiber:

Ever notice those rider encounters where the first thing that's check is the tires, for lean angle? Pass a bike parked, no owner in sight.....we've all done it. :): The Chicken Strip Check. (ovbiously, none on his r6!)

Absolutely GD right, dix. When I saw the Honda nameplate, I figured it probably didn't spend a lot of time on a trailer.

Thanks, Doug. Should not have posted these :cry made me remember how much play I got with that bike :lust. Pictures don't show how deceptively fast she was. Had a build/bluebprinted 100cc + engine and then I lighten every piece of rolling resistance I could, flywheel/wheels, primary gears, etc. No big deal on top end, but from 0 to whatever, she was a monster :thumb

The winter gates, I mean. They finnaly opened the winter gates. They're only open to Mitchell right now, which is north from asheville. There's about 6 miles through Asheville that remain open year round, weather permiting. But it's clogged with commuters and such, and there's no views or elevation. I'm hoping they open the BRP south of Asheville soon, as it's my favorite direction to go. Soooooo nice up there!!!

Whatcha ride? Got any pics?

OK... not too familiar with that section, sure would be nice to relocate to the Asheville area though.
I have a 2002 Triumph Bonneville America, a sweet bike, though not as smooth, precise and refined as a BMW, it looks fat, like a cruiser, but will blow away most Asian cruisers and ALL American bikes in the twisties. Mine is set up low, so the pipes do drag, but hey, the sparks are cool!!
I'll post a new picture of her this weekend. I'll get out tomorrow for a few hours anyway.

Bonne's are great motorcycles, I love them triples. I've ridden a daytona and a sprint. Both are more bike then I *need*. Especially the daytona....but that sprint would have been an execelent sport tourer.

Shot sparks (to the utter shock and awe of my riding partner!) from my left footpeg a couple weeks ago. Gotta really leeeaan that bmw to get the pegs down! But, yes, sparks are cool. :wink

This is gonna sound crazy, but I didn't notice AS the hole was burnt into my boot. I smelled it, and put two and two together. Never actually burnt me, luckily.

Jeremy,
I took a look at your web site and you have some very nice shots in your portfolio. Do you have some idea of what type of photography you are going to specialize in or do you plan to shoot on a free lance basis?

I recently started a photography business (take a look at my web site) and I mainly shoot sports & action and landscapes but am availble for other jobs depending on assignment.

If you are near Boone, North Carolina there is a beautiful area called Vail Cruis (sp) that has some great photo opps.

Good luck brother!

Ha...thanks! I'd always wanted to get some of that super fancy epoxy for my garage floor, but due to being somewhat cheap:rolleyes...I ended up using one from Home Depot (BEHR). It may not be quite as durable, but I'll take my chances.

In terms of what it took: I had to wash the floor thoroughly...then use their concrete etching solution (acid), then a primer coat, then 1-3 epoxy coats. It took me an entire weekend...which included the initial removal of all my accumulated junk. My neighbors thought I was having a garage sale:scratch

Thanks for the compliment.:thumb

Yup, it's an R1200C. I think it was too groovy-looking for BMW. They had to stop making it. I always liked the style of your bike too. Classic, clean, tough-looking.

Here's another shot of the 'C'. I changed the bars right away to lower ones. I couldn't get used to the high bars that came with it. It's really fun to ride.

. . . Then after crashing it, I painted it blue:

Lovin the camera mount on your tank! (I'm assuming thats what you use it for) I'm gonna try and make one for my gixxer, I'm too cheap to buy one. . .

Hey Erik, my antipodean colleague!

Hang out and enjoy that wonderful country. You'll return soon and we'll help you get set up with a GS. promise? :deal

Look on the bright side: they've improved the gearing ratio in the '08s.

We'll have you back up in no time. Meanwhile, enjoy the clean air, ocean views, pleasant people and mediocre coffee!Indeed, it goes in spurts, this longing for a bike. There's plenty to do and see, and riding in the city isn't really all that much fun, so most of the time, I'm ok being bikeless for a while.

I do love that all-red adventure for 08 :nod

and by the way, where do you get off callng the coffee mediocre? have you been to crapbucks lately? blech, i'm glad the aussie's are more european about their coffee - quality, not quantity (like back home, where you order in gallons). speaking of which, i'm off to the newsroom cafe for my morning hit.
:D

I'm kinda new to this bike thing.. :rofl

Could you make this thing look good? :wink

Great thread. It's looking at photos like these that make me happy to go to work everyday.
In addition to my freelance photography I am the Parts and Accessory Manager at a Honda Triumph dealer in New Jersey.

Don't take this as spam but if anyone needs any parts send me a message and I'll see what I can do.

Mind if post those on my SV board. I'm sure they'll give some others with the buell front end like mine some ideas of things to do.
