Referral Question ....

So after listening to me rant & rave :rolleyes about the greatness of a smugmug account, one of my fellow classmates, tells me she signed up a few months ago (!!), I asked her did she use my email address when signing up - she said yes - however I haven't seen any 'referral' credit appear in my control panel - :scratch
what did we/she/somebody do wrong?? :dunno
