Hi you'll,
We have another Little Blue Heron but thus one is a juvenile and that's why he isn't blue yet.
It was taken with my D100 and the 300mm/f4 lens with the 1.4 TC. ISO 200, aperture priority, ev adjustment -1.3, aperture f5.6 at 1250 sec, focal length 420mm.

This one is part of Florida living. Not really but its part of the Behret's in Florida living. My honey is a 50's fanatic. She believes civilization (at least the music) peaked in the 50's. She has always wanted a Bubbler Juke Box. I've been looking for some time for one and I finally won an E-Bay auction for one. It was delivered on Tuesday.

I've been mulling your exposure data you presented Harry. Sunlit subject right? Daylight exposure - Rule of Sunny 16 - f16 at 1/ISO. You shot ISO 200 - so f16/ 1/200 - sounds like it should be correct for a sunlit object. But you actually shot at f5.6 ( is that actual or corrected for the TC??) - 3 stops more exposure than sunny 16 would suggest - not sure I understand the logic here. Your exposure is great, but what is wrong with the Sunny 16 rule here?
I know that very white objects like snow or egrets require 1-2 stops more exposure than a lens based exposure meter usually suggests, but Sunny 16 should not be fooled like an exposure meter should it? :rolleyes

Hey PF,
When I shoot I'm in aperture priority mode and I make ev adjustments. In this pic I started out at -0.7 ev and when I aw the histogram and the blinkies flashing I upped the ev adj to -1.3 which produced a histogram w/o any blown out highlights. The subject was not in bright sun but in partial shade from the reeds in the background.

Hey Ann,
It was a struggle but its home safe and sound. Can I cook? Heck I do just about all the cooking. I'm a better cook than photographer. I'm cooking the burgers and Linda's putting on her poodle skirt.

Hey John,
It didn't arrive all that safe but I was able to get inside and fix some minor damage but it now bubbles away and plays music. Linda is getting peeved because she's running out of quarters. I figure to use the profits to buy some new glass :rofl

Hey Jeff,
Glad you liked the shot. Here's a site I got from Steve that has a good explanation of the "Sunny f/16" rule. http://www.fredparker.com/ultexp1.htm
I'm still pondering what to do with my growing collection of bird shots.
