Been shooting high school softball & baseball so much that I don't get to shoot wildlife. I did find a grassy pond & got the owner to ok me sitting out there. most stay just out of my 500's reach. thinking of getting a tc & manual focusing.

a few heavy cropped shots.

Buffleheads landing.

I found out later that all the grass was messing up my auto focus.
Anyone try a 1.4 or 2 TC on a bigma? I figure if I get a tc I can always use it on my 2.8.

Oh yeah...I heard there is a way to trick the camera into auto focus?

hope you enjoy ..prob wont get to shoot birds for at least a week.:cry

Yeah, a freaking blade of grass has ruined many a shot! Generally, TCs are better suited for a prime lens. I doubt if you would be satisfied with the results on a long zoom.

:(: Bummer!

When I see your shots, I can certainly relate. Taking a week off at this time of year ain't gonna help!!!

Lots of frames and a little prayer, Dave.:D

you can shoot in manual but better to wait for them to clear the grass most of the time it is the stuff in the foreground close to you that blurs the shot and you never see it :huh and Rick is right about tcs you need to be very good and lucky to make that great shot with a tc but a 1.4 and 2.8 do work well .Also if you are shooting non moving things your tc will work better .It is always good to have one in the bag you never know what is just a little out of range :rofl :rofl
