Creating non-gallery pages...yes, I am a newbie

I looked (maybe not hard enough?) in the FAQ's for this but couldn't find. I want to have additional pages on my site without galleries. You know the pages that any website has:

About
Gear
Links
etc, etc.

But it seems I can only create Galleries, or Categorize galleries.

Everything does live within a gallery, but you can create an html-only gallery, see #41 in http://www.smugmug.com/help/customize-faq.mg.

But for your about box - you might want to use a journal style gallery with a single picture, then put your about information as the caption for that picture. I did that for my guestbook. I actually have multiple photos on my about page and I used the gallery description for my about info. You can see examples on my site, click on the link below then look at "about" and "guestbook".
