As photos go ..its about as bad as it gets. When i see this sort of thing in a whipping post forum i immediately assume the owner is trolling.

On the off chance you are actually serious i can only offer this... it has no direction...what is it ??? A sprinkler or a puddle that a ball has bounced in ???

Sorry to be harsh to a newcomer, but the Whipping Post forum is supposed to be for your best work and so we tend to be a bit more demanding here than in the other forums.

I don't think there's much you can do to improve this shot. Even if you did a great deal of processing to give it some pop and cropped out a lot of the uninteresting grass, there's still the problem of it being unclear just what the subject is. Good photographs can tell a story, convey a mood, capture a moment, show you a new way of looking at things or do many other things. I'm afraid this one doesn't do any of those. But hey, it's only ones and zeros, so just get out there and shoot a whole lot more.

Cheers,

I agree with gus here. However, if you wanted to make this better, I guess you could have lowered your angle to give the water a more 3-d look. Of course, moments like this you generally don't have much time to setup.

And water seems to be out of focus while to me it seems that you tried to caputre that.

A note for you: I am not a pro. Just like you trying to learn.
