Thnxs lynnma, I am glad I found this site through smug mug.. I am looking foward to learning lot sfrom these great photographers. There are plenty of critters to keep the hawks fed and hanging around my house..I am always on the lookout and was lucky to have the camera handy when this guy decided to land..

Nice hawk shot. You'r lucky he's taken up residence in your yard/tree. You can just sit in your lawn chair (surrounded by snow....lol) and wait for some good take off shots :clap

They will usually defecate prior to takeoff, so they give a bit of warning. Just be sure you are not standing under the limb where they are perched :lol3
