The Watermark slider ain't sliding!!! :scratch And I got another question about the image I created for this...
Prob #1... I'm working with a "friend" shooting some events and working with him on his site. I've managed to create an image to use as a water mark, but when I goto create the WM the fade slider don't want to slide. I click and hold the green orb but it don't move. I also tried to enter the % of fade I wanted to use. Still no sildey... I did work from the top of the create screen down and filled in all data. (W2k, SP4 and IE6) Any thoughts?
Prob #2... The JPG I created (http://fergie.smugmug.com/photos/144512787-M.jpg) was done on PSP8 and the original image has a transparent background. So, after I UL it, why is the background now white? I want to use this as the WM and the white background isn't what I want. Thoughts?

The watermark slider is temporarily broken. We fixed it internally, it shall be on the site as soon as possible - this week, hopefully.
Sorry for the hassle.

JPGs can't be transparent AFAIK.
Make a png file - it's best for these types of files. JPGs can't be made to watermarks on our system. Help? More here: http://www.smugmug.com/help/custom-watermark-protection

Thanks for confirming Dennis. Nice to know I'm not the only one. :thumb
I appreicate the info Andy. I'll watch for the fix... hopefully sooner rather than later. And I can do the PNG thing for the WM. I had no idea that SM had this limitation on JPGs. :bow Thanks again Andy!

Is there anything new on the WM problem? I'm still seeing some weird actions when using this. For example:
- When I config an album to NOT show a WM, one still appears. (at least for me on 2 different machines. both W2k w/SP4 & IE6)
http://fergie.smugmug.com/gallery/2723696/1/144508799
- The WM pull down is no longer a pull down and just shows the word SmugMug beside in the Customize Gallery for the album. Still buggy?
- I'm now using a .PNG file and the background is still white behind it. Could this be a result of my PSPv8 and how it writes a PNG file? Thoughts please?
I also noticed that SM was down for a bit last night? For about 30 mins just after midnight PST. Have something to do with coding changes that were implemented?
Thanks...

Thanks...Hi, see attached grab... it's working fine in the gallery you liked.... can you also link me directly to the watermark you are speaking about, with the background issue?
Thanks..

I can't find that watermark on fergie... it's not listed as a watermark in use in the control panel, watermarks section. Did you delete it?

We received no other reports, so I believe this was a local issue to you.. sorry you couldn't connect! Glad all is well now.

... You can disable watermarks in a gallery but all the viewing size images
originally generated still have the watermark. You have to delete the WM on the photos
so that Smugmug can re-generate all the viewing size images.

OK Andy... We decided to nix the WMs all together. So I removed the images we were using for the WMs. It was in a hidden folder... so this could be why you couldn't find.
@ Andy - And is Allen correct that once the WM config is removed in in the Gallery Customize, it should still be viewable on the images? :dunno (conformation requested)
Disregard above. I found how to remove. Thanks again for the SM training Andy...
