Sure you can use anyone you like - but you can't use our shopping cart then.
Have you got order #s where the shipping was "too long?" I'd like to know.

the problem with your lab that it take about 12 days to get the photos...I ordered them myself...many other labs take only three days

We offer 4 options, first class mail (economy) 3-14 days (us postal service, we have no control how fast they deliver to you). Priority Mail (3-4 days). 2nd and 1st day delivery.
Janis, with thousands and thousands of orders a week, even the economy orders are generally received in a few days.
Sorry you had a slow delivery...

Betcha he had "proofing" set to a non-zero value and got slapped by the proofing delay.
It's a bug, I tell ya. Gotta fix it before it angers more photographers.

I don't think I've ever actually posted in this section - but I had to but in on this one.
I've had MANY ordered from Smugmug and people have ordered from the site as well, so I have had a lot of experience with them. I have never had an order take more than 4 days to reach my doorstep, and if it took that long, it was a weekend. 14 days must have been a fluke, what was the actual ship date? was it the postal service's fault?
for example, I sent a lot postcards from France on the SAME day about 3 weeks ago, and all but 2 people received their's over a week ago, and I'm actually not even sure if they've even received them yet! That is obviously a problem with the carrier...not me - because everyone else's got there...and I sent them all on the same day.
just because you had one bad fluke in the system, doesn't mean you have to dismiss them! and giving up your option for the smugmug cart and ease of ordering is definitely a crazy decision, I think. I think you should give them another chance, and surely this time you'll have quite an enjoyable experience! As I have had so many times!

Well, I'll chime in as well. Typically it takes about 5-7 MAILING days for an order to get to my doorstep or my family's. Sometimes I get the 'its in tthe mail' notification the next day sometimes it's two days later - then it takes about 5 mailing days (mon-Sat) to get the actual photos. If I place an order on Tuesday I typically get the order the following Tuesday. It's been a consistant behavior for the last 6 months since I started using smugmug for my personal prints. I'm not sure why the post office takes longer to deliver photos. I can send a letter accross the US and it gets there in 3 days. But sending photos from (is it Georgia?) to Ohio takes 5-6.

the best thing you could do is order another photo, I mean the most it could cost you is .19 for the photo and abit for the shipping. then see if they're still having problems

ok I did change the proof day and the customer said that she got it within three days ( we are in georgia) so maybe my first order was because I had no proof day on it....janis

Janis I have sold a large number of prints thru smugmug and I haven't had any complaints on shipping time. I had two or three not receive at all and then we got smugmug to reship. Two or three is small compared to over 1000 orders. So less than half of 1% had an issue enough to let me know.
Most people choose the cheapest shipping method and it says 3-14 days for a reason. Sometime people unrealistically think the 3 days, but they put the 14 there for a good reason. The 3-14 days is what the United States Postal Service says, not Smugmug or the lab.
