just got this lens yesterday

My 'used' sigma 300 2.8 got it's 1st outing last night,
a 6:30pm soccer game that I normally shoot w/ the 30D.
The lens is built like a hammer and it weighs almost as much as me. AF speed and accuracy were impressive.

I used this lens on a 20 d the glass was good but the focus was slow. I went out and found a used prime 300 mm l 2.8 cannon lens below is a photo i shot with the sigma 300 2.8...I think its a really nice lens just a tad slow is my only problem.

i shoot mine on a nikon d200 and af is as fast as my 70-200vr, very fast, even at 7pm in the shadows
if the nikon 300/2.8 is faster it better be twice as fast cause it costs twice as much

Wow, those are some really great shots, the lens is working for you without a doubt. Great action in all the soccer shots.

Track shot is awesome, love the raindrops..
