What is it? It looks like either flag on the poll or you're about to start a fire LOL. I like this shot, but i think you subject could be closer, there is too much empty space to the left and also i would darken the bottom of the pics just a bit. However, it is just my opinion, and you did what you thought will work for you.
Thank you for sharing!! :thumb

Not sure what the image is about :scratch
It obviously means something to you because you took the picture so you know what it is :D
Is there a story that goes with this??
Would you like to tell us why is it one of your favourite pictures?

I read recently that a good photograph has a balance between aesthetics and information. The aesthetics in your shot are decent IMHO; however, there is very little information being passed. I see a stick with a flag but I'm not curious about why it is there or why the picture was taken. I don't wonder what it means because it doesn't seem to mean anything, at least not to me.

Skippy, if you look at the first photo he posted, it is the top of the mast of the boat on the mud flats. http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=58386
I personally preferred that first shot as it "tells the story" without the need of any words.
I am not sure, but on my monitors both the mast and the boat photos appear far too yellow.

Ahhhhhhh thank you, I did actually see that first image the other day,
but didn't connect it with this one.
I too see the yellowish colour cast in the images,
and there is nothing wrong with my monitor.
........thanks for the input :thumb ... Skippy

hi, sorry for replying late . i was not coming online from last few days .. busy with lots of work ...
i had a series of photgraphs which i took on a beach where lots of broken boats were thrown . they r not in use any more, fishermen use this flag on their boat for looking diffrent between lots of boats .. its such kind of sign to each boat .. on that beach .. there were none other flag except this one ... "Alone" is the title i gave to this picture .. this is the story behind it .. :) .. and this is my fav cos i like the sense behind it, .... thats all ... and i add some yellow color into it to make it dramatic and make a contrast with sky ..
thanx for giving time to my photograph :)
(please dont mind my english . .its not very good)
