Coverting Pictures to "300 dpi"

I desperately need someone to help me learn how to change my images from 72 dpi to 300 dpi without cropping. I use a Canon Mark IIn Please also know that I'm a photoshop dummy (hate to admit that), however, If someone could walk me through the process so that I" get it" I would greatly appreciate it. Please keep this as simple and efficient as possible for me. I will be forever in your debt!:bow. Thank !!!!
