I have shared this with colleagues.

As a professional who works with social learning environments, semantic web, web 2.0, taxonomies, folksonomies, and looking for what web 3.0 will bring...this was freakin' hilarious!

It illustrates why folksonomies are so cool and useful, and also why they can be very very poor (the water example) and cause problems.

ha! Think of how you tag your dgrin images!

Strange little video, but funny and a little alarming at the same time. The irony was the supermarket coupon links posted to the site while I watched! I don't think those ads/links quite understood the nature of that video.

ah, but see...that is exactly what the video was about! web 2.0 is a grand thing...sending related content from various places...but it's also it's greatest challenge b/c web 2.0 doesn't distinguish "context" and synonyms matchers/equalizers don't always work.

watch the part of about the water again (water, h20, clear, transparent...)

...enter web 3.0 and the semantic web...

Yeah-- that's what makes all this ironic. I liked the reference/scene about pandora too-- pandora is one of the best things about the web :lust

All those grocery stores with the club cards probably aren't far from the grocery store in this video either... though many of them have done away with clerks and are into u-scan. Makes it a little harder to recommend additional items if there's no clerk to hand them to you!
