I probably shouldnt post this here but then again Im one for doing things i shouldnt. Ever have one of those dreams that seem so real??? Woke up this morning actually slapping my face - was it real??? Mind you i dont even know harryb, but last night I did!!! i was inside a zoo with my wife and HarryB. I had my canon 20D he had a "Talking Richoh Camera". We were all behind a thick glass taking pictures of leopard like animals. All of a sudden it got very dark and i noticed some men clothed in middle eastern garb pulling out from under a large rock - a rather large dog w' wings!! They were holding his wings outstretched and claiming victory for finally capturing this animal. I wanted to take a picture but everyone was in my way. HarryB "grabbed" my camera from me and leaped through the thick glass. He ran to these men holding the viscious dog with wings and he took pictures with my camera!!! I was left holding this "richoh talking camera" that kept saying some silly rhyme i couldnt comprehend. All of a sudden everyone ( including harryb ) runs for the entrance but some of us are still behind the glass. Now there are hungry wild animals everywhere trying to eat us. You cant imagine how sharp the teeth were on these animals - jaguars, cheetahs, monkeys, etc. The zoo keepers hadnt fed them and they wanted revenge. I managed with my wife to somehow get through the glass but then was confronted with a animal with jaws wide open...... I finally woke up!!!!! I couldnt breathe!!
I have no idea why HarryB was in my dream ( i dont know him ). I didnt even know Richoh makes cameras... but if i had that picture of the DOG WITH WINGS id paste it right here to show you......
All i know is im never NEVER eating steamed chinese brocolli before i go to sleep again.......

First I have to say you are in big trouble. I charge a hefty fee for personal appearances especially in dreams. I may be able to afford that 500mm/f4 lens after all. :clap
Now about the dream. I would never take your camera, its a Canon. :puke1 I only use Nikons. You dreaming about me taking your camera indicates your wish to take like wildlife shots like mine. :D You were left behind the glass because you're trapped in cold, dreary NY and the only wildlife is behind cages in zoos. It clearly shows your desire to get away from it and be in a place like warm and sunny Florida where the wildlife is not enclosed.
You realize that besides my personal appearance fee you also owe me for this incisive dream analysis. Hmmm a new camera to go with the 500mm. :deal
Finally go out and take some picture and you will feel better in the morning.
Harry
You must have studied up on those dream books in the self-help section!
A rhyme, Hmmm.....
Flying dog -- cause Harry shoots the birds?
You're right, a nightmare indeed!
Let's see you're always at the zoo shooting gorillas
Harry's always dodging alligators in his quest for winged creatures behind a sewage treatment facility
I think you're lucky the nightmare was so tame! :rofl

the ryhme was in a child's voice - kinda giggling about the camera itself.....
whats funny is that i can recall in the dream Harry so clear snapping photos of the dog with wings as I tried desperately to look over the people shoulders. He ran quick as lightning after he got his ( mine ) pictures....

Troy, you must be spending way too many hours at the zoo (or on these forums). Flying dogs? You know, there just ain't no such thing...

I was about to drift off to dreamyland myself, as I was recanting what you mentioned was in your dreams. There seem to be some elements of that dream that are quite troublesome to me. :uhoh I will attempt to analyze the contents of your dream below.
:deal As for my qualifications to do so, I should disclose that my father is a psychiatrist, and I was a psychology major in college, so this makes me absolutely in no way near competent enough to be analyzing anyone's dreams, so here goes:
I probably shouldnt post this here but then again Im one for doing things i shouldnt. Ever have one of those
dreams that seem so real???Troy, this is a great first step to confide in us here. Don't keep this creepy stuff to yourself, or you could go insane.
Woke up this morning actually slapping my face - was it real???Realizing that you were indeed awake is a good sign. Distinguishing between the two is very important. Slapping yourself may not have been the best solution, but as long as you didn't hurt yourself, then no harm done. Don't slap anyone else, though, if you see them dreaming.
Mind you i dont even know harryb, but last night I did!!! I was inside a zoo with my wife and HarryB.You want to tell your family somehow why its important that you spend time in the forums. By including Harry and your wife in the dream, you are introducing her to photographers whom you respect and learn from. You might be harboring some guilt for the time spent here and at DPR.
I had my canon 20D he had a "Talking Richoh Camera".Talking cameras will exist someday. See second new feature here:

We were all behind a thick glass taking pictures of leopard like animals.Wild animals are dangerous. A division from the wildlife is important, and a good dream realization. The animals are also protected from us.
All of a sudden it got very dark and i noticed some men clothed in middle eastern garb pulling out from under a large rock - a rather large dog w' wings!! They were holding his wings outstretched and claiming victory for finally capturing this animal. This is where this dream gets good. It is interesting, is it not, that others that you don't even know, are holding an animal that you can't grasp (either in reality or dream or one that doesn't actually exist)? This could mean that you seek experiences beyond the normal zoo animals like the gorillas and tigers that you normally shoot.
I wanted to take a picture but everyone was in my way.More support that there are experiences you feel are currently out of reach. Conditions that you wish to change or alter. You strive for clean easy shots (hey, who doesn't?)
HarryB "grabbed" my camera from me and leaped through the thick glass. He ran to these men holding the viscious dog with wings and he took pictures with my camera!!!Very interesting! You feel that Harry gets the kind of shots that you can't yet achieve. Harry moving through solid material could mean that you think his abilities in capturing shots to be somehow superhuman. And he even takes your camera from you so you couldn't get a chance at the shot. Revealing, this dream is!
I was left holding this "richoh talking camera" that kept saying some silly rhyme i couldnt comprehend. You were probably giving the camera some menu command (see above).
All of a sudden everyone (including harryb) runs for the entrance but some of us are still behind the glass. You somehow feel you are disadvantaged by Harry's skills in animal photography, which we all know is something you are both trying to get better at.
Now there are hungry wild animals everywhere trying to eat us.Yeah. I have that scene in my dreams every night too. Forget about that part. It's normal.
You cant imagine how sharp the teeth were on these animals - jaguars, cheetahs, monkeys, etc. The zoo keepers hadnt fed them and they wanted revenge. That's why they're behind the bars and the clear walls.
I managed with my wife to somehow get through the glass but then was confronted with a animal with jaws wide open...... I finally woke up!!!!! I couldnt breathe!!You wish to prove to her that with photography, you can also become superhuman and pass through solid objects, saving her life also. You are again wishing to justify the time spent here to your wife.
I have no idea why HarryB was in my dream (i dont know him).Harry's bird shots represent what you have yet to achieve photographically. Indeed, his skills are above many of us here. Having a mentor and teaching example is healthy and normal. It's no coincidence that Harry was in your dream. And perhaps Harry really does want to steal your Canon.
I didnt even know Richoh makes cameras...You are not dreaming this. They do.
http://www.ricohzone.com/
but if i had that picture of the DOG WITH WINGS id paste it right here to show you......Yes, that would be a true POTD or POTM or POTY. Don't let Harry steal your camera next time, and keep it on f/8 and be there for those fantasy animals. We'd all love to see those shots.
All i know is im never NEVER eating steamed chinese brocolli before i go to sleep again.......Vegetables are good for you. Steaming preserves the flavor and the nutrients. Just eat them earlier in the evening.

Glad to be of service. I hope you were nightmare-free last night. My bill should arrive to you at about the same time as Harry's bill.
Posts like this by me were probably the reason I got booted from "that other place."
