This in the CSS makes all the same links on that page red, you don't need to make more than one change:
.gallery_2628205 .journal_entry a {
color: red;
}

I made a link from my prices page for family and friends discount. I made the gallery, made it private, and locked. I then made the link. For some reason when I go to it, it isn't asking for the password. It did, but only one time. I closed browsers and tried it again and it was letting my right in. Any suggestions? I need it to be password protected so that everyone can see my discounted prices for family.

When you scroll over the info in the page it comes up a block of info and some of it is script. It doesn't look very nice. Can I fix this to maybe say something else when you scroll over the pictures and the words? You can view it to see what I'm talking about. :wink Thanks

I uploaded a photo from my computer and it says that it's my profile picture, but it isn't.
Could you help me out with the above question about my scroll over on my site. When you scroll over the pictures and things it gives you all the info that I entered and some of it's scripted. I wish I could change it. Or when you scroll over the guestbook page make it say like drop me a line or something like that!?!?!?!

What uploader are you using, and what does your upload log say? You can find this in your control panel up at the top.

I go to YOU! edit profile photo and then it gives me the option to load. It just searched the file on my puter. It put the picture up there.

I want to make a URL page of somesort that I can list on craiglist for my photography. There are a ton of other people that do this sort of thing. Is this something I could do with my smugmug account. I just want something simple with a few pictures, a logo, and some info on it. When I post it into craiglist it will be a nice ad instead of just text. THANKS!

Andy,
Is there a way that I can add my Header to the HTML page that I am creating? I am figuring this out a bit, but most of my header was in CSS. How can I make the K&B PHOTOGRAPHY that you saved for me work as HTML? I read the link you sent me and this from that link
Power (http://www.smugmug.com/price/power-users.mg) and Pro (http://www.smugmug.com/pro) SmugMuggers can use HTML to add custom banners (http://www.smugmug.com/help/create-photo-album) to their SmugMug pages. However, most Power and Pro customization will use CSS (http://www.smugmug.com/help/help/custom-colors), instead of HTML.
Is there somewhere that will walk me through this?

Is there somewhere that will walk me through this?Your header is just an image, so why not. Do it exactly the same way as any image.
Trouble is, it's a png. You'll need to put it in photoshop, make it a jpg or gif, to work in another site like craigslist.

HEY! It's been a while. I need to add a link on the end of this....
Just make it say whatever and give me a few drop downs and I will work it from there. That's what I do with my new galleries. I paste and copy and put in the new ones!
...
Welcome back. :wave

Alrighty.... Cleaned that up... Now... What?:scratch Something is corrupted in your code because CSSVista will not load your
CSS. For now change the red to fix IE6, guessing on a width because can't
confirm. If it still wraps to two lines we'll up the width a bit.
/* Common Styling */
.menu {

BTW, is that what you wanted with the added menu item?

I like the nav bar the way it looked. All I wanted to do was add a new link on the end and make it still stretch across the top...... Make sense?

I went all the way to 670 and nothing. Is there a way we can break it up and make it look nice... All we are doing is stretching it out, right? I don't want to words to be tiny.
I'm using Explorer. I don't know what version. Not vista!

One more thing... When you go into the galleries (the different themes) the nav bar looks different. Anything we can do about that so that it will look the same and straight across no matter which theme I pick?

I see the font sizes changing for some of the galleries. That is caused by the different themes.
Might try this. Change the bold in your CSS.

Also.... I am working on my nav bar. If you click my family button you will see what I'm doing. I want my stuff to be like on the link above. When you click family it takes you to the sub cat first. How do I do that? I like the way her's are organized and that's what I'm tryin to do.

The buttons are working. I want to arrange them differently. I moved the CSS stuff around and it didn't work. I thought if I put them in the order I wanted them ( back, pause and then forward) that it would save that way. It didn't.
Can I move them up into the actual slideshow in the corner or something?

Fantastic. Well, How do I get a row of popular photos like that? need to fix your next button. See red below.
Change this
#ssNext img {
background-image: url(/photos/1203696#56334898-O.png);
_background:none;
filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImag eLoader(
enabled=true,sizingMethod=scale,src='/photos/194590848-O.png');}
Like this.
#ssNext img {
background-image: url(/photos/194590848-O.png);
_background:none;
filter:progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.AlphaImag eLoader(
enabled=true,sizingMethod=scale,src='/photos/194590848-O.png');}
Go into your control panel and under the homepage tab, click show for the
popular photos to move them to your homepage.
Add to your CSS the bold.
.homepage #galleriesBox,
.homepage #categoriesBox,
.homepage #featuredBox,
.galleries #popularPhotos
{display: none;}
.galleries #galleriesBox,
.galleries #categoriesBox,
.galleries #featuredBox,
.homepage #popularPhotos
{display: block;}
On the popular photo box there is a thing to click (adjust: # of photos) to
select the number of photos to show. You want a number that doesn't wrap
to two lines or a number that doesn't wrap to three lines.
You can see two lines on my site (http://www.photosbyat.com/).
You'll also need some CSS to format the box after you get it showing. We'll
face that then.

To put the pause/play button between the previous and next buttons find
this in you javascript and replace with this.
if (slideControls) {
slideshowContainer.innerHTML += '<div id="ssControl"><a title="Previous Slide" id="ssPrev" class="ssBtn" href="javascript: void(0);" onclick="prevSlide();"><img src="/img/spacer.gif" border="0" /></a><a title="Pause Slideshow" id="ssPause" class="ssBtn" href="javascript: void(0);" onclick="pauseSlideshow();"><img src="/img/spacer.gif" border="0" /></a><a title="Resume Slideshow" id="ssPlay" class="ssBtn" href="javascript: void(0);" onclick="resumeSlideshow();"><img src="/img/spacer.gif" border="0" /></a><a title="Next Slide" id="ssNext" class="ssBtn" href="javascript: void(0);" onclick="nextSlide();"><img src="/img/spacer.gif" border="0" /></a></div>';
}
Add the bold to move your buttons. Because of the different slide heights
you have, on some the buttons will be below the shorter slides.

CLEAN!!! I want the slide show with the photos under it. If I could make the photos clickable that would be nice. Maybe a nice border around it all or something?!?! Clean and minimal that way you are only seeing my photos. I don't want the labels and jargin all over it.
Is there anywhere I can get different buttons from?
If I load the new buttons and just change the gallery in the codes you already have I will be OK, right?

The popular photos under the show are clickable. Click one and you'll be
taken to the popular gallery.
That last option adds a thin border around both, very clean looking.
For new buttons just change the photo numbers in your button CSS.

HEHE You've got jokes. I type for a living and then by the time I work on this it all looks the same.
I just loaded it on a seperate browser and it looks OK to me. It's running. I need to go back and attempt what you had in red before.
:wink
You my friend are amazing. That looks great. There is one more thing I want to do....
I would like to have more photos on the bottom. Can I make it smaller to add one or two more? Know what I mean? There are only 6 pictures on the bottom. If you think it wont look good then I can just leave it.
MY HATS OFF TO YOU! :ivar You are awesome. THANK YOU. I am going to bed for tonight. I've had all the "slidshoe" fun I can take for one night.

You're menu is b0rked.
You changed the width to 669 instead of 695
/* Common Styling */
.menu {
position: relative;
display: block;
z-index: 99;
padding: 20px 0px 30px 0px; /* spacing around menu - top right bottom left */
height: 20px; /* menu container (div .menu) */
width: 669px; /* width of menu - minimize this until doesn't wrap to two lines - too large effects centering */
_width: 690px;
margin: 0 auto;
}
You changed this one to 135 from 0, need 0 there.
.menu ul li:hover ul {
display: block;
position: absolute;
top: -4px; /* FF DD up down */
margin-top: 17px; /* FF main mouse active vertical */
left: 135px; /* FF DD right left */
width: 135px; /* unknown */
}
Here's the one to change to 135 from 130
.menu ul li:hover ul li:hover ul {
display: block;
position: absolute;
left: 130px; /* FF FO right left */
top: -27px; /* FF FO up down */
width: 135px; /* FF FO box width */
}
All this looks good in Firefox, IE6 might have to be adjusted. The height of
the bio and popular boxes need to be adjusted for IE6.

If they are a different size is it going to mess everything up?

The banner is just an image created in photoshop or editing software. You
could create one of our own.
As for the colors, they can all be changed, but you'll have to be more
specific to which ones and then we can help do one at a time.
.. and thanks for coming back to YOUR thread, makes it a lot easier to follow
your history of changes. :D

Since you guys made MY THREAD I always come back here. I have some photoshop elements questions out there right now but I didn't put it on here. It's always you and I that talk on here so I didn't know if I should put that. You always help me with my formatting.
I'm trying to get a new image so that I can change my border. That's what I'm working on.
After I do that I will know more of what colors I want to go to.
I would like to take away the buttons we added. I'm pretty sure I could erase it but I always end up erasing something important as well!

I haven't visited my web site in a long time without being logged into smugmug. I visited the web site and my header is gone.
Is it gone when you visit my page? It should say K&B Photographer at the top and all I see is my slogan.
The K&B header is in my photo files saved under site files (i think).
Please help me get it back up!

The first thing you should do is switch to the new flash slideshow. The old show will not work for any photos added after the security/privacy changes. The documentation on the new slideshow is at http://wiki.smugmug.com/display/SmugMug/Flash+Slideshow, a thread to ask for help is at http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=73247, and Allen's post showing the pieces of the old show that need to be removed is at http://www.dgrin.com/showpost.php?p=777834&postcount=14. The slideshow buttons are a parameter that you can set; you will see the options available in the documentation.
The photos under the slideshow on your homepage are your popular photos. To remove them from the homepage, use this CSS:
.homepage #popularPhotos {
display: none;
}
If you want to change from your light background to a black background, you will need to change your banner and all of the colors you are using for text - since your black text would disappear on a black background. I see that you are using a gray theme. If you switch to a dark theme that would at least get you to a starting point from which you could start to apply the changes that you want. Keep in mind that since you also have colors specified in your CSS, just changing the theme to a dark one isn't as simple as changing the theme; you will also need to specify new colors in your CSS.

You can take a look and see what I mean. I want to move the navbar over. I can't figure it out. I moved it up but I can't manage to move it over to the right!
See if this works. Change these existing items like this. Make a copy of your
CSS first in a text file for backup if you don't like it.
#my_banner {

left: -290px;

Try this combo. btw, there is no right: Use left: + or -.

Close but still not good. How do I change it so that I can move it around. When I change the left numbers in the menu it isn't moving it at all. Do I have to change the left in the banner and the menu numbers?

The banner and menu are locked in a position relative to center so they stay
the same when the page is stretched back and forth.
You want each to slide out wider away from each other when the page is
stretched? To do that each would then be locked to the right or left margin.

I'm not certain. I want it to look more like this. http://www.moonriverphotography.com/
I love the way this looks nice and clean. Can we move it over more?

That was totally my fault. Thank you. I didn't read your instructions close enough. Looking good.
Can I space the slide show from the line at the top a wee bit? It looks really good. You are awesome!

remove this, it's part of the old slideshow code.
#ssSlide {

remove this, it's part of the old nav code.
#navcontainer {margin-bottom: 20px;}

I checked out this page:

I don't see specific instructions on making the show itself smaller. The box around my photos is huge. Suggestions? Am I over looking it?

In your bio code change the height to 400 and see if you like it.

Hi. Can you help me with this? I am following the directions to make a watermark but it shows the background on every watermark I create. How can I get it to NOT show the white background?

Is there a way that I can lock down my family album? The Mississippi album and have a password to get into the sub cat instead of each and every album?

Hey There.
Is there an easy way to re-route my traffic for a while? I want to send them to a page that simply says I'm remodeling. I want to work on my site and I don't need everyone seeing my progress?!?!

I was wondering why the right side of my homepage is cut off?

I was wondering why the right side of my homepage is cut off? Already answered here (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=1217624#post1217624). Please don't post the same question twice. If you need to re-ask a question, then just post to the same thread and say "bump" with a short reminder about what your issue is. The "bump" brings it to the top of the message queue and is a reminder to folks that you haven't yet gotten an answer. I personally tend to skip the posts that either aren't clear or lots of other people could answer so I can look for the harder questions, but if someone bumps after a reasonable waiting period, I will try to jump in.

Thanks a ton. I appreciate you. Can you push me in the right direction to make my slide show smaller? There is too much space in between my header and slideshow.

Another thing....
I want to clean up all the junk at the top of this particular album. It doesn't need anything but my header and the photos. Is there a way to remove the cookies where you can see the chain linnking them to that page on the top left?!?! Take the picture now - gallery -.....That link?

Add this to your CSS to hide the "no photos" message when you are not logged in:
.notLoggedIn .emptyGallery {
display: none;
}
Please fix your site link in your signature - it currently lists an invalid URL. Click You! in the navbar above then Edit Signature and correct the URL.

Go back into the Easy Customizer and change the text colors.

I don't see what you see in my bottom java. Can you just delete it? I really can't find it. My right click is set in easy customizer so that should take over.

It looks like you didn't have it hard coded in, but instead had it set in your Easy Customizer. When viewing the code for your page it will show the same though. I have gone in and removed it for you. The change probably didn't publish when you went to update it. So I went in and removed the old and added the new.

Hi. I'd like to get my domain info to release my godaddy domain to a different site. How do I do this? I purchased the name kristensphoto.com through you guys and then through godaddy... Purchased it here.

If you purchased through smugdomains.com all of that runs through GoDaddy. We aren't in the domain hosting business but we were able to get a special landing page with GoDaddy. You would need to contact them directly for anything regarding your domain.

Can I remove this the navigation links from one or all my galleries?
kristensphoto (http://kristensphoto.smugmug.com/) > Portraits
I don't want to make it hidden because that loses my banner and "feel". I just don't want them to navigate away from their album. I am only using smugmug as image hosting for clients and I don't want them browsing around.
