This is in regards to my thread...... http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=57725

Apparently my 80-200 f/2.8 was a threat to homeland security. I didn't see that part when I put my bid on e-bay. :wink

Nice stuff gmonkeh.

This is what I don't get. If I, and I am assuming most anybody else with half a brain, were to perform an illegal act ... we would attempt to perform that illegal act in a manner which would create the least amount of attention. Hauling a dSLR around with a bozooka sized lens has never been very descrete.

And yet law enforcement hasn't figured that out yet.

Sorry to hear that you were singled out because of the color of your skin.

Did you ever consider that the cops might have been Canon guys?

First of all, Very Nice Photos. Glad you got them without being shot.

Secondly, ever since 9/11 the police and security have become a little hyper with terrorism and security. Might as well get used to it for a while. Sorry you got singled out because of your race.

I work security for a major Theme park. I try to explain to my officers that because someone has a nice camera and lens (as opposed to a thow-away or point and shoot) it doesn't make them a bad guy or terrorist.

Do you know how hard it is now to get into a concert with a nice camera, no matter what color our skin is. And lord help you if you point it at a public building. I guess we will all have to start taking photos of just birds and bees.

PS- On my monitor you have a touch too much contrast ... the whites are too white. A dash of gray to fill in the whites especially on the skin tones and the highly reflective areas (the water, concrete, et al) may make your already very nice shots just a bit better.

My monitor's been acting up lately, I have a DELL P1110 21" CRT. I think it's finally starting to go poop.

A calibration device wouldn't hurt if you don't already have one.
