So, as usual, I left my camera at home when I came to work today.

So all I had was my camera phone to take this shot from a window on the floor of my building.

What a moment to miss. A ginormous fire right next to the Hollywood Sign. Sigh.

I know the feeling... At the end of the last fall soccer season, my son's team was playing two games on the last day, the 2nd would be for the championships if they won the 1st. So I didn't think it would be too bad to leave the camera at home for the 1st game. Boy was I ever wrong. The 1st game ended in a tie and went to a penalty kick shoot out to determine the winner - and my son was put in as goal keeper. He blocked 4 of the 5 shots, including the last one for the win and was mobbed by his team mates and I didn't have my camera :cry

so, like David says, always bring your camera.

I forgot to point out that the brick building between Capitol Records the Hollywood sign is the Scientology building. :D

While listening to the "breaking news" while driving in my car in Orange County, I wondered if one of my LA friends would be posting a picture of the scene. I didn't expect the posting that fast though... :thumb

Thanks for posting.

And yes I always have my camera with me, except when I don't. :dunno

The fire was just shown on ABC World News. I think they used your picture.

My wife was on the other side of the hill in Burbank, wishing she had *my* camera which I'd taken to work at UCLA! You can't win sometimes. :D

No point me taking my camera to work,
I usually just make it to work on time by the skin of my teeth :rofl I aint got time to stop. :rolleyes

We don't have a view from our office cause we're in the middle of the building on the ground floor, sucks but hey we're just employees :dunno

Least you caught it with your camera phone David :thumb ... Skippy

I'm sorry but your photo isn't very sharp, maybe use neat image or noise ninja or something. Or maybe a lower ISO would help. :barb
