Does anyone notice any obvious post-processing?
I tried to be as subtle as I could with this (old) overexposed Lilly.
Taken in glaring, midday sun.

the background looks overprocessed, particularly in the area top left :dunno

Still a very noisy background, and you lost saturation. Have you tried NeatImage on it?
Another approach might be to mask the lily, then desat/darken the background.
