Hello all,
This will be my first whipping! This picture is inside a bowling alley that will be torn down in May! The other pics I took are here:

Thanks
Joe

*EDIT* I added the new picture on here, taking into consideration some of the suggestions made!

I like it Joe but I think it needs to be brightened a bit.

This is a good shot, other than the bowling balls looking a bit oval it has a lot of debth and the composition is great. I don't now about brightness but I think it could use a little more pop, I bet if you added Contrast (not curves, would probably darken it too much) you would get that extra umph out of it.

I am going to try that when I get home......I will repost.....
Thanks for the great input so far! I hope there will be some more, this is a great learning experience. An example is using contrast and not curves, I would have never done that.... Thanks

That's just me though, I am sure some of the experts around here will tell you that if you use multiple points in your curves, you can get different results. In my experience, when I want to do a basic touchup I find that just dropping the center point in curves really only benefits my photo if it's slightly to more over exposed.

I posted the newer with more contrast next to the original!
Thanks

Nice re-do. It has a little more life now.

Dropping (or raising) a single point in curves creates a gamma ramp - it effectively lightens or darkens the photo only. To adjust contrast, create an "S" curve - this may not be the best article but Google turned it up first :thumb http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tutorials/command_primer.shtml

Regarding the photo - I quite like it. The only things that I spot are a slightly blown area at the bottom center, and the monitors are just a bit crooked.

I only see one, do you still have the other to compare?
