I love the send mail and the way the emails look.

What concerns me is the posting of my static IP address on those emails.
In these days of extreme internet security, that seems very dangerous to me.
Why is that necessary? Can the system be configured to show that IP to officials at Smugmug IF spam is reported and not broadcast to everyone who gets an email?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Dana,

The info is in any email you send, in the mail headers... it's not private info. IOW, if you sent that photo via email from your email client, the same IP address would be available to the recipient :)

Still, thanks for your concern and I'll be sure the team sees this!

That's correct. In fact, even if you use Hotmail or something, they embed your IP address into the email so that they can help fight spam, too.

Well that's right. I tested the send mail out and it was just so.... in your face.
The average internet user wouldn't know how to see that in email headers, but I imagine that anyone that was intent on doing harm would know exactly how to obtain that info.
