HELP
I have my CNAME set up with Gandi as
www
www.smugmug.com (http://www.smugmug.com/)

I have smugmug set up with my host name
www.lillybrookphoto.com (http://www.lillybrookphoto.com/)

Is that all I need to do? Am I right giving Gandi WWW.smugmug.com (http://www.smugmug.com/) and not NICKNAME.smugmug.com?

Its been about 36 hours now and its not working yet? Should I be worried or just wait it out?

Thanks

Andy

You've done it right, but I can see that www.lillybrookphoto.com is still not hitting SmugMug yet. Wait 12 more hours and then talk to your domain host. If you need more help, holler.

Nothing yet. is there way to test to make sure that the problem is with Gandi?

Here is what my DNS Zone file looks like on Gandi:
www 10800 IN CNAME www.smugmug.com (http://www.smugmug.com)
@ 10800 IN A 63.81.134.23
@ 10800 IN MX 10 redir-mail-telehouse1.gandi.net.
@ 10800 IN MX 10 redir-mail-telehouse2.gandi.net.
photos 10800 IN CNAME www.smugmug.com (http://www.smugmug.com)

For a while after I made the changes I was still getting gandi's "parked website" page, then for about the last 24 to 36 hours I've just been getting page not found errors.

Any advice would be appreciated .

Thanks,

Cliff

Don't know what the 10800 is but the rest looks normal.

Here is what makes me think its a smugmug problem...

That is smugmug's IP address correct? that indicates to me that the routing is correct.

Hi Cliff,

Your CNAME is not set correctly. For some reason it is set to www.smugmug.com.lillybrookphoto.com (http://www.smugmug.com.lillybrookphoto.com)

Probably a typo of some sort. Can you check it out and change it to www.smugmug.com? (http://www.smugmug.com?)

If you need any assistance, let us know. If you don't mind giving us your password/username for gandi, we can set it up for you. Email us with the details at the helpdesk (http://www.smugmug.com/help/emailreal) :thumb

Not sure why that would be, here is gandi's zone file, I will email you with my gandi user name and pass:

Ivar, and Andy,

just wanted to thank you for your help in getting this working. Who knew a little period (or lack there of) could cause such a problem.

CliffYou're welcome.

Like I said by email, the registrar you are using, is one of the most difficult to use I've ever seen. There is very little information. Most registrars have a little info box next to the fields with how it should be entered.

Anyway, glad you're all sorted. Let us know if you have any questions :thumb
