I have just about done all of the customization I want to do for now, I am sure more will come but I must admit I am a little anxious to make the site live to my visitors.

I havea web site that I have been maintaing for years now and have had a gallery on it for just as long. I get requests all of the time to buy images butI could never find a solution that would let me customize like Smugmug does. So here I go.

Unlike other sites that I have seen in here, I am not using Smugmug as my COMPLTE site, it will only server as the GALLERY part of the site. Almost every week, especially in the summer, there will be a new gallery of images. I want the link "Pictures" from the main site to go strait to the SLIDESHOW of that weeks gallery. I now I can just change the link each week on the main site, but I was hoping to be able to use the "FEATURED GALLERY", thinking that this gallery will have a consistant link, only the gallery chages. I am not sure how the "Featured Gallery" works so someone please enlighten me please. Is my thought porcess correct or am I going to be stuck changing the main link each week on the main site?

I entertained the idea of the Dual home pages, one with just a slideshow, but I want people to have the choices of adding images to their cart, not just see a slideshow so I decided I really didn't need the dual home page solution.

Also, how do you DELETE a featured gallery?

Thanks,
Houston

HoustonMaybe it's because I'm lazy, but I would just create a gallery (call it something like "Gallery of the Week") for which you know the URL. Each week, upload your pictures into separate galleries ("Week 1," "Week 2," etc.) and bulk copy them into the "Gallery of the Week." The next week, bulk delete all of the photos from the "Gallery of the Week" and bulk copy in pictures from "Week 2."

That way, you never have to change the link on your main site (because you're always linking to the same gallery URL) and don't have to mess with Featured Galleries.

That sounds like resonable solution. Thank you.

Also, how do you DELETE a featured gallery? Do you mean remove feature? Under the thumbnail on the feature page there should be a "don't feature" button.

If you mean delete gallery and all of it's images. Gallery tools menu (http://www.smugmug.com/help/gallery-tools-menu) then select delete.
