This is a dumb question, but I am getting no where so I have to ask. I just started my site yesterday and I have a banner and a navbar. I have created some informational pages on Word and I would like them to be 'pages' that can be visited by clicking on the navbar. Is there anyway to do that or do I have to copy/paste the word document into a photoshop jpg and do it that way?

I'm not sure that my question even makes sense. I'm not completely computer illiterate, I just thought smugmug was a little bit easier than this...

Hi Didi - start here:
http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=52812

You can make all sorts of pages - Easy "About Me" pages (see my site for example - Guestbook - it's just a journal gallery with a photo and some text in the caption.
www.moonriverphotography.com

You can get more involved - HTML Only pages - see our FAQ: http://www.smugmug.com/help/customize-faq.mg

Let us know!

Didi, the guestbook page looks great - now add your text to that caption :) That's all I did on my site :)

If you want to put price lists and such on your SmugMug site, you can, it'll take a bit of formatting help and some HTML, which the community here can help with. But you cannot just paste word docs into your Smug site.

Make a new gallery, for your Price List. Put your price list text in the Album Description and we'll see if we can help you format it.

Reply back with a link to that gallery when you have it done.

http://dididaniellephoto.smugmug.com/gallery/2585467 is the link to my 'investment' page so far with some price listings...

I copy and pasted and saw just what happens when you didn't use html. So I googled html and so far have somewhat appropriate line breaks in there instead of one big rambling of words. I tried bolding some and 'big-ing' some and that didn't take.

What's this 'bit of formatting help and some html' of which you speak? Is there a link within dgrin or smugmug to help with the formatting part?

oh.my.god.this.is.hard.

LOL, now I know why people pay hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to pay SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT! AAAHHH!

Didi. I ran into the same problem when I started writing HTML pages. I googled and found a program called NVU. It was free at www.nvu.com
It lets you type and format your page as in a Word Doc. Then click a tab to see all the HTML code. Copy the code, paste it in your description section of your SM page and there you go. I've even copied my Word Docs and pasted them into NVU. It gives you a bunch of extra code at the header. But after you get a bit better with the coding you can figure out how to get rid of the stuff you rally do not need...
