Ok I've created my site and I would like you to check it out and tell me what works for you and what doesn't. Be harsh I'd like to know what the good, the bad, and the ugly are. Check it all out and don't be afraid to tell me. But please comment if you are going to check it out. Thanks
:cry I can't seem to figure out how to make a slideshow to put on my homepage.
:dunno I'm unsure about the information page and the guestbook page.
Check my layout for Sports> Razorback Lacrosse and tell me what you think about that organization.
Help me make this site go from good to best!!!
Thanks ahead of time for your patience and consideration!

nicely laid out clean site. Not sure if you meant for it to happen but on your homepage the guestbook link drops down a line (not on the same line as everything else). Maybe just me I do like your dropdown links in your menu but I am not crazy about the yellow and then the red hover/selection color on the dropdowns. But again nice clean layed out site.
u have some great photos there by the way

The banner is left-justified but the navbar is centered, they should both be the same. Also, the ketchup and mustard colours of your navbar are a bit much, but that's just personal taste.

Quick note, after all your menu groups you need to close the li.
remove red and add green. Typical one shown.

Can you tell me how to change the positioning?
Also on the color thing..... I made the drop down colors a dark red and white and that's how it shows up on my computer, but when I'm at work it's red and yellow. At the college it shows up the intended colors...... what gives?
Thanks

Ok I really didn't mean for that to happen.... could you tell me how to fix it? Also if you read a reply I sent a few seconds ago about the colors do you have a solution for that too?
thanks

I know I'm asking way to many questions and I'm sorry, but you can't get what you want if you don't ask right? Just a thought. But on some of the pages the green is still in the galleries (I think like in sports) and some it isn't how do I change that?
Thanks for all the replies!!!! With all your help my site will look great! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!:barb

Sorry I'm a little computer illiterate. Do I add the green to every single part that has li or do I just do the extended far ones to the left or the ones that have an <a after them? Thanks so much, I really don't know what that does but thank you.

One thing I noticed that when you click on most galleries listed under categories you go to a new page, except when you click on those things listed under weddings. I would keep it consistant and change that. Also the information category stays on the home page.
On your bio page you need to proof read it and correct some gramatical errors. "I have job shadowed a fine photographer by the name of David Yerby at a few weddings." is an example of something that needs help badly. Replacing it with " I am currently working as an assistant/second photographer to David Yerby. I have learned a great deal about posing couples, using natural light, and how a photographer prepares for a wedding from him."
I would take the whole thing and ask a friend on the yearbook staff (preferably someone who edits the text), to review it. Its not well written at all.

I will take it to the staff and see how they will change it. Thank you for being so honest, I need it. As for the going to a new page part I don't quite understand what you mean. I have a question for you as well, does the drop down menu show up yellow and red or dark red and white?
thanks for your help

extras in there. Also add a space between Luke &spaceKayleigh, see below

A lot of really good photos and Ahhhh the memories of walking the Uof Ar campus at all times of the day and night....
The one thing I really did not care for is all the dropdowns on the main page...personally I would prefer to just clik on say"galleries" and find the different galleries as they are on the next page.....I am not a fan of any type of drop down or pop up.....
But your site is really nice and the home page is a lot like I was going to do mine........
Good luck

it still looks yellow and red to me...i think white and dark red would be nicer, but as it is...yuck. also, the photo of you in your header doesn't really work. the header is big and bloated and takes up too much space making the viewer have to scroll to get to the photos in the slideshow.
i like the way your watermark LOOKS, but the bigger "k" kind of confuses me.
lastly...i love zapfino as much as the next girl, but be careful with it! i think it's one of those fonts to use sparingly. perhaps you could use a nice roman serif caps font (like your eKicadorie) for "rika" and "orie" and use the zapfino for the first letters? or...something like that. there are too many swoops which makes it a little busy. OR...ooh...maybe, in PS, you could extend the length of the straight part of the d, put "dorie" right below "erika", and make the swoopies on the d and the k overlap...if that makes sense, and then do a more simple, clean font for "photography"
lastly, because you've named specific galleries in your drop down...that's going to require maintenance. it might be easier to consolidate the categories you have in your nav bar, and then have one of those be "portraits" and then it would take you to another page w/ all those different galleries. does that make sense?
all in all, i think b&w for a photography page colour scheme is always great, and you've got some nice photos. i just think the navigation and marketing design could be tweaked a wee bit. (yes, i can dish it out...when my site isn't even close to ready, so...if you want revenge, feel free!)

You may want to check your control panel settings to see what groups you are a member of. When you go into any of your galleries, it has a bread crumb whose first link is "Portraits" that takes you to the Smugmug Portraits group. You should simply remove your site from the group in the control panel, and it will revert back to just erikadorie as the first link.
