But... Ken Rockwell says that your camera does not matter.
Maybe because it's entirely an artist's eye, patience and skill that makes an image and not his tools.

I have to disagree with Ken, every time I have tried taking a photo without a camera, I have failed miserably, so I think the camera does matter. But I suppose that Ken would just claim that I am just not talented enough.

LMAO. Stumbled across this and had to laugh. Been reading Ken's stuff for quite some time and find him to have some thoughts, but not always thoughtful thoughts. Very funny here.

It's still a rumor... As is the D3/D3x/D3h. There is nothing official yet, and no links to a leaked image. Ken I still guessing. But Ken is really good at getting traffic to his site :wink

Most of my best pictures were taken without a camera. It's just a shame that no one else can see them.

Me too!! :D:D:D
I agree that it is not entirely the tools. But good tools do certainly help. Ken does not routinely shoot with a box camera either.

From NikonUSA.com
http://press.nikonusa.com/2007/03/nikon_introduces_the_d40x_a_ne.php
The D40x’s 10.2-effective megapixel CCD imaging sensor is complimented by Nikon’s exclusive 3D Color Matrix Metering II and an improved Nikon Image Processing Engine that together ensure breathtaking picture quality with analyzed exposure, refined details and natural, accurately rendered colors.
Still no autofocus motor though.

This must be Ken "who needs 12-bit RAW when sRGB JPEGs are really better for everybody because they're easier" Rockwell we're talking about...

You know, if you guys stop visiting his site, he might just finally shut up and go away. OK, wishful thinking.
I don't think I've run across a less-respected, less-accurate photographer on the net than that blowhard.
