Please feel free to move this thread if needed.

Been noticing lately that my photos from my 1D Mark 2 (with latest firmware) have all been "banding" or have vertical lines running through them. Not as noticeable in regular screen size, but really noticeable at 100%. I have a lot of shoots coming up very soon so I can't really send the camera into Canon immediately, but does anyone know any common fixes either with the camera or in post?

Does it only happen when you have underexposure?

seems that way, yes. I see it in untouched photos while view them in RawShooter Essentials. Very obvious once I bump up the exposure

Good call Tristan!

Most digital cameras exhibit forms of "banding" when pushed from underexposure.

I see the shot was at ISO 160. I suggest bumping the ISO to 400 or 800, and then more careful exposures, adding EC if necessary, to prevent underexposure.

The Canon 1D MKII has such a low noise floor that pushing the exposure seems to work pretty well, but it's not a good policy as demonstrated.

Noise reduction software can often reduce the effects, especially coupled with layers and masking to preserve the detail in unaffected areas.
