I like these types of shots.
But as for colour I have to search long and hard for good colour in winter. I do find it and it makes it all the more worth while.
Mostly I just bitch and moan because I can't ride my motorcycle.

Beautiful. I keep rereading and practicing the digital layering effect. I wonder if this shot might not have been a good candidate for multiple exposures -- one to lighten the foreground trees a bit?

It's getting warmer here on the tundra. The snow fog lay in the valleys and the sunrise was spectacular. When the sun was up, the hoar frost was left behind, but I was headed for the office by then. Who says winter has no color?
