That lens may well be on my got to get list this spring.

To bad for the one branch across it's beak but otherwise it looks sharp.

Lynn,
With the quality of the pics you've been posting from it, I would hope you are loving that lens.....lol It's a sweetie :thumb I was just outside and I saw what I had always called a blue jay. But, he didn't look much like what I see people posting :dunno Larger, long tail, same color blue wings, very similar head and beak and no white markings on the wings. Maybe your's is an Eastern jay and I see Western jays? I guess I'll google it :scratch

Anyhow, nice, nice pic and I'm glad you're enjoying your 70-200mm. Very sharp and with this long lens, it's easy to realize how often those little twigs and other stuff gets in the way and aren't noticed until post processing?.....lol

Thanks for sharing and please clean those windows :roll

I can rest easier, I found it :-) It's a Western Scrub Jay.

Nice pic. I can see why you are liking that lens. Why are you shooting through a dirty window? :scratch

You have to get outside and not put some dirty window between your subject and that fine lens. It got cold down here in Florida (below 60) and I still went outside and shot some piccs.

harryHarry :rofl I'm laughing so hard.. I know it's sooo bad. It was 11 degrees below zero F. this morning!!! I was in my jammies!! the bird was in the tree and I have my new lens? what would you have done..:rofl I never expected it to actually come out. I will however clean the windows until it's warmer.:rofl

Lynn, got your message and came right to look at the jay bird. He is so cute, I can tell how cold it is. I would never be able to get my feathers puffed out in such a way I would be comfortable, but that bird looks as close as he can be.

I thought that lens was so good it had cleaned your window for you. I would have to go back and look to see why everyone was mentioning it. Looked good to me, and the lens is really sharp! Especially as you said it was heavily cropped. I rarely crop much anymore. Maybe a bit.

ginger (maybe the lens was looking between the dirt on the window, or that was the part you cropped off.:rofl )
