I picked up a cheap used 300D to send off to be converted and saw this note on their website.

NOTE: If you are sending a Canon camera and use their 10-22mm EFIS lens as your primary lens, let us know. The 10-22mm EFIS has a different IR focal point than most other Canon lenses. If we adjust your camera to be sharp with the 10-22mm lens, then other Canon lenses will not be sharp unless you shoot at F10 or high. If we adjust the camera for normal Canon lenses, the 10-22mm lens with not be sharp especially at the corners at 10mm.

I do use the 10-22 alot for landscape... but I do use my other lenses too... how not sharp are they talking about? Should I have it set for the 10-22 or regular lenses?

Here's a sample from a 10-22.

Is your focus set for a 10-22 or normal lenses?

It'll work, you just have to understand how the focus on your particular lens goes...

So... I got the 300D body today... and I'm getting ready to pack it up and send it off.

I'm still confused though. :scratch Do I have it adjusted for the 10-22 or no?

Dan says the 10-22 distorts bad in the corners on the normal IR conversion.

Do I get it adjusted for the 10-22 and then just adjust my focus for other lenses?

I think Dan will know more than I would at this point. My exp with the 10-22 was nearly 2 years ago. Have you called him? If not, do so on Monday.

not yet... I've been emailing him though. he said "Some people only use the 10-22, so I set the camera up for it. Otherwise, you should get our normal conversion which is compatible with most lenses."

I'd bet on using the 10-22 85-90% of the time though. I've got an IR shoot comming up in June and I want it to be perfect.
