I am a newbie and have made a few modifications to my site, but am having trouble. I have made it work to some extent, but am not sure there isn't a better way. In order to follow the links in my navigation bar, I had to name my categories "Public" and "Private". Is there a better way to do this? Maybe I am not explaining myself clearly. Thanks for any help you can give.

RichardHi Richard,

I've only been with SmugMug for a month or so, but one thing I've learned is that there's no right or wrong way to customize your site. If you look at a few people's sites, you'll see a variety of different ways in which people organize and design their sites. I don't see anything wrong with have "public" and "private" categories. You can then use subcategories to break each of those out into things like "travel", "portraits", or "weddings".

Alternatively, you can set up your categories to be "travel", "portraits", and "weddings" and then have both public and private galleries within those categories. I think this is the option taken by most people, but again, there's no set standard.

Browse around, think about, and get back to the great people here and I'm sure they can help you achieve the design you want.
