Thought I would try my first post today.

Mt Evans Co. is with in two hours from Denver. It a great place to escape if you only have 4-5 hours. I often visit during bad weather days to see if can capture the sun above the clouds. I can find the Mt Goats about half the of the time.:photo

This was a cold day until the sun came out... This goat wasted no time in getting a little sun.

This was taken just after the clouds parted for the last rays of the setting sun. In the backgrond is the dark storm that kept us pinned in the car for about an hour.

This photo was taken on a day that was so bad that I spent most of the time in my car. At one time it hailed so hard and fast the storm left 1/4 in of ground cover in just a few minutes. Earlier in this trip I went out of the car with my small tripod in a light rain. As I was setting up the tripod to get a low cloud in the distance I herd a zipping noise, not a good thing to hear holding a metal tripod. Once again a low crouch race back to my car. This photo was taken 1hour before sun set.

Taken after one more storm let up. If you look you can see a little snow on the ground.

Fog in the summer can be found on Mt Evans. This fog was so thick that every thing got wet in just a few minutes. http://danspage.smugmug.com/photos/91655187-M.jpg

Last light of a very wet but rewarding day on Mt Evans...

The big horn sheep don't do much for me, but this one is excellent:

If you can get the trunk of the tree a just tad lighter, it would have even more of that 3D effect.

Welcome to Dgrin! :wave

CO is a pretty cool place though I've not explored much of it.
