I'm thinking of making a trip out to the desert to shoot landscapes/flowers in Feb/Mar, hopefully hitting the peak of the bloom.

Possibly Anzo-Borrego, maybe somewhere else.

Looking for advice/recommendations/information for my outing.

EDIT: Oh, I guess I should mention for those who are lost, that I'm talking about Southern Californian desert regions and the possibilities of shooting the flowers that peak in Feb/Mar.

In the quest to answer my own question, I found this guide of When and Where to Shoot (http://www.mdougherty.com/100-THEPHOTOEXPERIENCE/180-CALENDAR/180-calendar.htm), which you all may find interesting.

Me again.

I trolled the internet some more, found a smugmugger with a page on Anza-Borrego here. (http://markholmes.smugmug.com/gallery/311312/1/12386879)

Hoping to get him to contribute to this, er, discussion.

Go to Borrego Springs (I-15 to 79 east to S2 to the NEXT road which takes you straight to your stay at Stagecoach, an RV/horsecamping/camping place. They have a few little travel trailers for rent which are well-maintained. Nice people and grounds. Small market. Stayed there a couple of times with the ponies, most recently visited friends camping there last spring.
