i know you've been after birds. try setting your exp compensation (ec) to negative 2/3s and possibly as much as -1, for those white birds when you shoot them in direct sunlight. and, shoot raw :deal

Hey Ginger,

You did pretty good with a very difficult exposure. You caught some good details in the feathers. I know how tough it is to expose those egret shots. I would adjust the ev a tad more as a few parts of the egrets were overexposed. All in all though an excellent capture. Congrats. :thumb
