smugmug style showing as "smugmug small"

I've got some galleries that are set to smugmug style, and in Firefox, they display correctly (i.e. 15 thumbnails on the left, medium image on the right) and in internet explorer, they look like smugmug small (9 thumbnails on the left, small image on the right)

what gives?

I did some styling on these galleries and hid a lot of navigation. Maybe I stepped on something else without knowing it.

They look fine to me in FF and IE. You could be seeing part of the new auto-sizing thingie. When the window is small, the view mode will automagically switch to smugmug small. Try resizing your window and see if it works...

Trishcheck for toolbars, etc in your IE6 - the size given, smugmug small or smugmug, will depend on the size of the viewport in ie6

I had a gallery that was stuck in smugmug small. It even had no customization. I finally fixed it by changing it to all thumbs style and then back to smugmug style. You might try that.

Maybe I'm missing something here but didn't there used to be this option in the 'viewer control' dropdown when it was enabled for a gallery. I don't usually use this on my galleries but when I did today, I noticed only the 'SmugMug' option...the problem I am having with this option is that it spreads out the display over the width of the browser, I have everything else on my site contained under the header (about 750 pix), here's what I mean, http://propointmedia.smugmug.com/gallery/2481296 vs. this, http://propointmedia.smugmug.com/gallery/2376241#124525263

I know what you mean, and I've done that for most of my galleries...but in this case the wider format looks out of place under my header, which I only made my SM header 750 pix in order to stay within the look of my main site, www.propointmedia.com (http://www.propointmedia.com). I just won't use viewer controlled....Thanks Andy.

OK I'm going to be blunt - that's silly. You are denying those with big monitors a good viewing experience, because you have a narrow header? Make a new header :) Or, use different headers for your galleries.... both easy to do, we have a tutorial for that, see the customizing sticky in the customization forum :thumb

I understand...but I won't call you blunt ;) I already have this header (750 pix wide) designed for 800x600 screen rez. My main site is designed at 800x600, if someone has their rez set to 800x600 it will fill the width of the screen (minus 25 pixels on each side). I do this because if I designed my site at rez 1024x768 and someone has their rez set to 800x600 it will spill over and create a horizontal scroll bar, which I try to avoid at all costs.
