Thanks, that was on the Shenandoah, just upstream from Harper's Ferry, WVa.
I'll have to look for my Dane Jackson pics. I have some of him surfing at Diagonal Ledges when he was 10. :) Low res: WR stuff.

Does anyone on here whitewater kayak? I've been boating for 7 years. I primarily make videos (www.whitewaterwishes.com) but I have some pictures that I take (when I'm not in my boat!) www.whitewaterwishes.com/ocean
I don't have very many from the river because I refuse to bring my camera on the river!

You are right that it is hard to take good stuff down in a kayak.

It's so cool to find other people who kayak everywhere! :clap I see you're in VA... I assume the Gauley is local to you? If so you're lucky!
I do a trip every year down that way- I hit the Yough, Gauley, New, Big Sandy and anything else that's running! More often than not though I head up north to the Ottawa etc... Do you get out much?

Awesome! So what do you paddle?
Sorry to sort of hijack the thread by the way... I get excited when I meet other paddlers!

That stuff looks like it's still less than 20 years old. I ran some of the first center mounted rowing rigs down the Gauley in 1979/80 era (before self-bailing floors) when there were only two or three open boaters (Mad River Explorers - by Robert Harrison) paddling with an inner tube strapped in. The Gauley is certainly one of the finest pieces of white water in the world.
I'll look through some old photos to see if I can find anything to post.
Great shots of Pillow Rock. Anything from Sweets Falls?
