Hey, it seems theres some number of users here who are motorcyclist. I am one of the curently riding suzuki gs850g and working on 82 honda cb 750...

I just got my digital camera and cant wait for the weather to get nices, to take it for a ride and stop and take pictures... Might be able to take it out for a little middle this week in kansas. Anyway, just wanted to say hi to all my motorcyclist friends.

It is true that lots of us ride. I have a Kawa ZX6R. Do stick to the "stop and take pictures". Some of these nuts are shooting while riding. One of the extreme cases (Patrick B.) is not a member here (I think) but he has a shot of an indicated 155MPH with the bike on the wrong side on a back country road with a hill in front and a stoplight ahead warning sign. I'll try to dig up the URL.

That's me riding. Turn 10 last summer at Putnam park.

Jim kept saying things like ; "This thing wheelies pretty easily in 2nd gear". It's a fun bike.

I went out riding in Normandy last weekend in order to continue making photos for my new visitNormandy.org web site.

I had to stop regularly, get the camera, make photos, put camera back, and it was getting boring. So, next step was to strap the camera to my neck, ride, stop, make photos. The obvious next step was to make photos while riding.

I'd done this often enough, even with heavy action (did the whole BMW Off road course while making photos), but then with the GS the windscreen is a bit too high, so I started standing up while riding. Wasn't going that fast, about 60 mph, enough to go to neutral, stand and make photos.

Then came the twisties, and that's when I made this one. I was leaning the bike into the curves while standing and making photos. First time I'd done it, and it worked well. Notice where my body is in comparison with the top of the screen....

I know it's not the done thing, but it was fun...

I've seen it before, but that's still an awesome shot. Have you tried sharpening it in Photshop?

Good idea. It looks a little better. When I tried "sharpen more" it was too much. I tried doing a "custom rotate" so that the road appeared horizontal and the bike lean angle would be increased but it looks better this way.

Did you try Unsharp Mark? You can fiddle with the settings... and apply it more than once. If you're interested, I can pass on some of what Scott Kelby has in his excellent book.

This might be slightly oversharpened... but can easily be tweaked.

I take a few shots while riding. I just slow down and take it easy.
