Great shots of birds... What camera/lens are these taken with?

Both were shot with a Nikon D100 and a Sigma 170-500 mm lense.

Sweet shots. What is the image size multiplier for the D100? In other words what are its equivalent focal lengths for the 170-500?

Sweet shots. What is the image size multiplier for the D100? In other words what are its equivalent focal lengths for the 170-500? I think the Nikon D100 is a 1.5 multipier - similar to the 10D 's 1.6x

The Sigma lens 170-500 seems to give very nice images doesn't it?

Yes on both counts: The D100 does have a 1.5 multiplier and the Sigma 170-500 seems to be a real sweetie.

By the way GREAPER - Keep up the good work :thumb

That big lens can help a lot... gets you close in and nicely blurs the background. Nice shots, talent too, Greaper! :thumb

Thanks for the kind words. I like the sigma, it's a little slow but i think it gives nice results.

I delete about 50 shots for every one like these I get.

I dont think I could afford to try to get these shots with film. My D100 has opened up a lot of opportunity for me to attempt new things.
