They were arguing with a magpie over feeder right of way. My bird book says they are the second loudest bird in Alberta, second only to ..... magpies!

At minus 26 C, I was on the warm side of the window!:thumb

These and the coyote are great. Perfect exposure on the snow in the coyote shot. Where are you?

Hi fish!
Thanks.
I am in sunny Edmonton, Alberta, Canada - if you don't know - Edmonton is about half way 'up' Alberta on your way to the NWT. It is brutally cold here right now - expecting -32C overnight and strong winds. Hope all my outdoor buddies find shelter somewhere.

About the exposure on the snow - well, I'm not so sure! I did change the white point and the contrast on all of these. The coyote was the best I could get - saw him right out back, ran for the camera and only got him thru the dining room window - great spot tho with afternoon sunlight falling the way it did.

And with the first jay - the whole background was really overexposed - to bring out the jay I decided to sacrifice the snow - but I am really happy with the final result.

Thanks for looking

Thanks, Nir - yeah I know the snow is blown but I actually like it against the bird. I know there are probably ways to edit it such that I can still have the bird looking good and the snow looking right, but I like this one, so....:dunno
