Had our first clear skies last night. It was pretty dark when it first became visible. I really had to fight with the camera (in the dark) to get it to take pics. Ended up using manual exposure and manual focussing at ISO 1600. Taken with Bigma.

Brian V.Thanks Brian. I'd love to see it with the fluffy tail as shown in Gus's pic, but we had clouds again the last two nites :cry

Had "clear" skies again last night, but couldn't get a decent shot of the tail (or rather, the tail didn't make a decent showing). Prolly too much light pollution.

A comet none the less mate. I recon Table Mt would be a good spot. I walked that once.

Table Mt should be a good spot (bit chilly though). I have a feeling I've had my chance - the moon was already way too bright last nite :cry

Nothing wrong with that! :clap
I'd maybe have not cropped it so tight, and maybe would have tried to get the comet slightly lower in the frame to try and pick up more detail on the leftover tail which you can see clearly in your pic.
ps: you may want to check waxy's thread (http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?t=117) on including an image in a thread.
pps: in a case like this you should consider starting your own thread as many folks think they've looked at this one, so don't expect new stuff and don't look again...
pps: welcome to dgrin!
