Hey, I spend more time on my computer than I do with my wife. I'm glad I love my computer, and I'm glad I love my wife. Neither one of them is around to "get the job done", but to improve my life. Mac fan? Heck, yeah.

(Should be told with the heavy georgian accent:-)
- "Gogi, do you like cucumbers?"
- "Eat - yes, otherwise - no, not really"

I love my family. I spend probably 1 hour a day with all of them totally.
I really don't care (shall I say - I don't give a $%#t:-) about any of the 4-5 PCs I have to deal with every day. However I spend 10-14 hours with them on an average day.

PC (and any computer or other device, like a cellpone, camera, etc.) is just a tool. Buch of copper wires, silicon and plastic parts, arranged in a certain order. Is it useful? Hell, yeah. Do I care? Hell, no. :D Which helps me to migrate from one to another without any hesitation or back thoughts, like "OMG, I have to part with my lovely Nokia (Dell, HP, Sony, Canon, etc.), shall I put it to sleep, so it does not suffer?"

Fall in love with something like that? Man, and I thought I was a geek:rofl

On that note - I used my HP XP laptop Monday evening because that is where I originally installed Starry Night ( an astronomy program) to find comet Machholz and I did manage to see a glimpse of the comet through the fog. When I turned off the computer it (Microsoft) announced that it was installing three ( 3) security updates ( this is after Security Pak 2 et al ) and not to turn off the computer until it finished. I complied like a good Microsoft repairman.
Today my laptop is a total boat anchor. It will not boot at all, not into Safe Mode or Safe Mode with VGA or into a previous version that booted successfully, not even after removing the battery and hitting the hard reset button. It will Not Boot. Thank you so much for your help Micrososft. I now get to reinstall XP, Starry Night ( which has a software key) and Photoshop 5 and update to CS which also has a security key in the XP world. This will take the better part of a weekend all because of an update that MSft thought I needed. My next laptop will obviously be a Powerbook, need I say more? I can simply back that up with the same hard drive I back up my MAC.

It proves exactly what I think: you need at least 7 minimacs ($499 x 7 = $3,493 .. plus tax:-) to replace one decent workstation, usually availalbe for under $1200..
Thank you for your moral support!:thumb
