Hi y'all,
Once a year I hit a spot where photography wears thin and I just got past it. Between the Mi IV shoot, the aborted Reznick workshops, showing a stream of visiting photographers around (5 in four weeks), reprocessing a yea'rs work of shots for the stock company, etc, etc I hit a spot where I needed a break from shooting and processing.
I haven't shot wildlife in awhile and my shots from my last few outings were real sucky. :puke I still haven't really started processing my shots from December yet either.
I went out last week and shot a surfing meet and that seemed to break the spell (a needed change of pace) and I'm starting to get back into stride.
Anyhow enough whining here's afew shots from November

I think it is a normal part of any hobby or job. Heck, I just went down to the Hill Country here in Texas to count the bald eagles that come here for the winter and the weather was atrocious. It was raining, 35 degrees Farenheit, strong northwestern wind, cloudy plus there was a fog coming off the lake we were on. All my exposures on almost all my shots were completely blown. 2Gig of pics pretty much to the trash bin! My poor camera, or really, lens just needed more light.
Glad to see you are feeling better about it though.

Thanks, it happens at least once a year and fortunately doesn't last long. Pity about your eagle count. Maybe you can get back there in better light.

I think we all go through that. I know I usually end up putting the camera's down and not shooting at all for sometimes up to a month every year when I get to stressed and busy. Glad to see it's over for ya though. Would suck if you have 50 photographers on your door step and where still in a funk. Your shots look great though and I can't wait to get down to florida and start shooting. It will be way more fun than trying to crack the solid sheet of ice on my car in the morning so I can open it up to get to work. :cry yesterday was a long day.

Thanks Skippy. The cultists had vehicles parked a short distance away. They set up by their cars and carried it down the embankment. I would assume that they had a lot more gear in their cars.

I wouldn't be surprised. The blonde lady is a local pro and probably doing a workshop.

One thing I can promise you is that you won't have to crack any ice off your car down here. :D
By the time MI IV is over I will put the camera down for around 4 weeks while I process all those shots. I should catch up by the time the season in St. Augustine starts.

I'm all ready for MI IV, I'm just not ready for the recovery time I'll need after MI IV. :lol
Lots of folks use beamers but they are especially prevalent among the white lens gang. Kind of surprising, I would have expected them to just shoot at ISO 9600 with available light. :smile6

Why is it that all the big Canon lens hoods are always drooping just a tad? I think they need to drink their V8. :nod
