This one's for Humungus...

Not much happening at my usual haunts today. But I did find some people
who were working (and not taking pictures of spiders :D).

When they're all said and done, it looks like this. Four guys, a ladder and
some tools.

These guys get to the office on a helicopter. Look at the skids on the lower
helo and you can just about make out two pairs of feet. The way it works
is the pilot "lands" or more properly, sets the skid the guys are on down on
top of the tower and they climb off. The helo on top brings their equipment
at the end of a long line. BTW, the lower helo is headed for another tower.
The process is two men followed by a basket of tools then two more guys.

I watched the two helicopters for over an hour. In that time, they put
four teams of four on each of four towers. Plus all their tools. And they
did it with such precision it was amazing. Just friggin' amazing. Like watching
a well orchestrated arial ballet.

Here's the last shot. Notice that both helo's are moving stuff as indicated by
the long lines attached to the helicopter.

Good simple shots ian ...if that came ever be a compliment.

I happly swing about like a gibbon at 30-50 feet up but dont do any work at that height. We leave that to the riggers.

I'm jealous, I climbed poles for 9 yrs. No one ever offered me a lift up there! Guess I was with the wrong outfit.
