Hi again, folks!

Today, at a barbecue, I had the excellent opportunity to take some pictures of a few good friends.

One of them is the gorgeous Cassiane. I had shot a few pictures of her on the past, and all of them ended up being pretty nice! I think I owe her a present or something like that.

Anyways, here's the latest picture of her, a closeup portrait. I shot with the 50mm f/1.4 to have good control on the DOF. This lens is a bit too short for head shots like this one, but I like the effect I got here, a kind of an enhanced sense of depth, a kind of a 3D-look. It was taken with the Nikon D70, 50mm f/1.4 lens at f/2.0, 1/80, ISO 400:

During post-processing, I tried not to make it too contrasty, to explore the softness that appears on most of the frame, except for the sharp left eye that was in focus.

So, what do you people think of it?

Thanks in advance for all the attention!

I think it's wonderful. She is very attractive and I think you have caught it well. I think the background is a bit bright, but it does not subtract from her beauty.

I would give her a nice print of this. I think she will like it.

She is gorgeous Thago. Her left eye is nice and crisp and the high key image is attractive. Like Greaps, I might crop a little of the brightness out at the upper border of the image. Is this the only capture you're going to show us from today?? C'mon!! :D :D

I agree, a tighter crop on this would be great. It's a wonderful capture :thumb :thumb

Greaper: you're right, I'm definitely not too mad about the blown background. However, as PF and Ed noticed, since I'm probably printing an 8x10 of this, I'll crop it off... :-)
Of course, I'll give her a print of this photo. Already did it with the previous ones!
Also, thanks so much for your nice words!

pathfinder: Thanks, by the way, for your suggestion on the crop. Good eye!
Oh, and I'm really glad you liked my picture! If you want a few more pictures of her, I have a few old ones, back from the day when I didn't lust after glass. This was shot with my Sony F717:

Ed Hughes: Thanks so much for your warm compliments, I appreciate them a lot!
You have an excellent gallery (at smugmug) by the way! Great photos at Yosemite!

That's all for now, folks! ;-)
Take care!

I dont think I could concentrate on lusting after glass when she was around.

:wink

Seriously, another nice shot.

now there's an awesome portrait :bow. I love the soft skin tone, the slightly tilted pose, the sweet smile, the hair details and very cool DOF :D
Perhaps I would tighten the crop a bit... but I'm not sure, just fooling around by covering parts of the pic with my hand. :D
Well done Thiago :clap

Michiel: Thanks a lot for your warm compliments, my friend! Those are precisely the points that I find attractive on the photo. Oh, and about the crop... When I settle on a crop (for the 8x10" print), I'll tell ya! :-)

Pathfinder and Greaper: I'm also really glad you liked the older shot! Thanks so much for your kind words, friends!

Take care, you all!
