I didn't realize google was indexing my smugmug galleries. I understand the keword/private/password issue in this thread, http://www.dgrin.com/showthread.php?p=367920#post367920
I had some family/friends galleries that now are indexed and I'm working on locking them down as private...but

How can setup my smugmug so that the next time google crawls, those get removed? Would putting this meta tag do that?

I've read, http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/topic.py?topic=8459 will this work?

I'm no meta-tag expert, so I can't be sure. According to the text you linked it seems that it works for what you want. It would at least take untill the next time that spider crawls your pages before it takes effect.

Thanks for the reply. But will this work even though this tag from smugmug is still in there along with the tg I put in there? Wouldn't those two conflict?

No, that won't work.
Make the gallery private, the link will eventually fall off google and the other search engines.
