I don't understand why the world didn't shut down for this... They shut down for the world cup final but this was even more exciting.

The phone demos on apple.com are pretty sweet. I have to wonder how snappy the actual performance will be, but the canned stuff is cool.

The only UI glitch -if you can call it that- I noticed is that the 2-finger zoom paradigm in the photo section is not replicated elsewhere in the UI, like for google maps and safari. I understand the reasons, but it would have been nice to be consistent. I had seen that paradigm demo'ed in a presentation (from MIT maybe?) last year, nice to see it in a real product.

OK, not MIT it was NYU, and 2 years ago not 1. Here's a link (http://cs.nyu.edu/%7Ejhan/ftirtouch/index.html), can't find the whole video at the moment but it's cool stuff.

Apparently Apple patented "multi-touch" technology and this is their first implementation of it?

I was thinking about that video I saw back then...

I agree. This seems frighteningly and disgustingly overboard.:huh

I'd agree - iPhone's all well and good, but not available until Q3 in the US at the earliest. AppleTV available but not necessarily of interest to everyone, likewise the new Airport Express.

I was hoping to see info on iLife 07, iWork 07 or a speedbump for the Minis. :dunno
