Hi
I finally got the cojones together to go and bring my smugmug site up to date..... I managed the basics and got the nav bar and headers the way I liked them BUT cannot figure out how to make a page one panel of text. I created the text on a background in CS and then uploaded to my "information" gallery/page but cannot get it to appear as anything other than an image in a block.
Also, I wanted to run a slide show from my weddings gallery, on my front page. I think I followed the directions correctly but am obviously missing something.
The url is http://teamprophotos.smugmug.com/
Any assistance will be much appreciated...:dunno

First thing I've done is delete all this from your CSS. It doesn't belong there.
width = 800
vspace = 0
hspace = 0
height = 543
border = 0
align = middle
onmouseover = smugPopular(this.id,showing);
style = background-image: url(http://teamprophotos.smugmug.com/photos/120840804-L.jpg);
id = mainPhoto
name = mainPhoto
class = imgBorderOn protected
alt = Richard > We like to get together before the meds kick in....
title = Richard > We like to get together before the meds kick in....
src = /img/spacer.gif
Position
Left: 25px Top: 859px
Width: 800px Height: 543px
Other
Font Family: Verdana
Font Size: 12px

I really want to get the hang of this and not have to bother you guys too much..

HI :)
Here is the code in your footer for the slideshow:
<*script type="text/javascript"*>
slideshowContainerId = "bioBox";
slideshowUrl = "http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/736632";
resizeToPhoto = false;
slideDuration = 5;
slideHeight = "400";
slideWidth = "600";
loadSlideshow();
<*/script*>
Replace the red with the gallery that you wish to use for the slideshow. Just the red. Make sure and leave the quotations marks, etc.

What do you mean, place "it" into another gallery?
Do you mean, you want a different gallery to feed your slideshow on your homepage? If not, please elaborate :D

Yes, I think that's what I mean.... I'd like the "home page" to be where the visitor is made to watch my "marketing slideshow" which is going to be my weddings & "mitzvahs " gallery...
I've told everyone I know that I learned how to do all this from a packet of breakfast cereal giveaway... I hope you won't let me down...

So the easiest way to do this is load up photos, and force the gallery to Slideshow style. How's that? :ear

1) PLEASE put your website in your Dgrin profile, it's SO MUCH easier for us to find your site. You! upper left dgrin screen, thanks.
2) your Info link in your navbar goes to this image:
http://teamprophotos.smugmug.com/photos/121603970-O.jpg
Instead, why not make a new gallery, force it to Journal Style, upload a nice photo, and put all that "info" in a caption. Then, link that GALLERY in the navbar.
